2020-2021
Gen Z is powering the explosion of second-hand apparel shopping with conscious and savvy shoppers looking for sustainable alternatives to continue expressing themselves through fashion.
However, in Latin America, current retail solutions are not able to untap the potential of the market because of the particular challenges the second-hand segment encompases in the region.
That's why we created Ropstar, a second-hand fashion marketplace for Latin America's middle class.
Ropstar is redefining what selling and shopping second-hand fashion means.

Approach
01/
Immersing in the second-hand shopping universe.
By conducting interviews with second-hand buyers and sellers we were able to understand the economic, political and social implications for second-hand shopping as well as how we could potentialize the shopping experience in a way that actually solved the particular challenges second-hand retail has.
02/
-
Traditional e-commerce platforms are not well suited for secondhand retail's specific needs
-
Current sales channels pose a cap for secon-hand sellers' sales
